We are honest: this app does store data about you when you use the Telegram bot or create an account on the web app. Here is exactly what, why, and how long.

1. Who we are

UNI LINGUS is a language learning platform. Contact for privacy questions: via the Telegram bot @UNILINGUSBOT using the /privacy command.

3. What we do NOT store

Email addresses or passwords (unless you create an account via email login)
Phone numbers
IP addresses (not logged or stored)
Payment information (we have no paid features)
Voice recordings — audio is transcribed and immediately discarded
Location data

4. Where data is stored

All data is stored in a PostgreSQL database hosted on Replit (US-based infrastructure). Data in transit is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. Replit provides disk-level encryption at rest. No data is sold or shared with third parties for marketing.

5. AI providers we use

When you translate, chat, or use voice features, your text or audio is sent to one or more of these providers for processing. They do not store your data for training (free-tier policies apply):

Groq, Cerebras, Mistral, NVIDIA, OpenRouter (AI inference)
Microsoft Edge TTS, ElevenLabs (voice synthesis)
HuggingFace (OCR, ASR)
Google Translate (translation fallback)

6. Your rights (GDPR / CCPA)

Access — send /privacy in the Telegram bot to see what is stored
Delete — send /deletedata in the Telegram bot, or POST to /data-deletion on the web app. All your records are permanently removed.
Opt out — stop using the bot; your data will not grow. We have no tracking pixels or analytics cookies.

7. Cookies & analytics

The web app uses a single session cookie (no tracking cookies, no advertising cookies). We do not use Google Analytics. PostHog is optionally configured for aggregated product analytics only.

8. Children

UNI LINGUS is not directed at children under 13. If you believe a child has used the service, contact us via the bot and we will delete the data immediately.

9. Changes to this policy

If we materially change what data we collect, we will notify active bot users and update the date at the top of this page.
